Blue Mountains Tours
Only around two hours from Sydney, the stunning Blue Mountains have long been a holiday destination for city slickers who wish to get away from all the hustle and bustle; however, there’s no better location to experience the Sydney region’s natural environment, no matter where you’re visiting from.
The Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area not only encompasses some of Australia’s most famous natural icons, it also contains a number of quaint mountain village destinations, including Blackheath, Faulconbridge, Katoomba, Leura, Megalong Valley, Mount Victoria, Springwood, Wentworth Falls, Hartley, Lithgow and Oberon. At every one of these locations, you’ll find superb food, great country hospitality and a number of beautiful sights and historical points of interest that are well worth exploring.
There’s no doubt that there are a few enduring primary drawcards to the region though. Katoomba’s Scenicworld for example offers astounding views of the Jamieson Valley, Echo Point and the Three Sisters and offers you a number of ways to view these glorious vistas in a manner that’s fun and exciting, via the Scenic Skyway, Cableway, Railway and Walkway. The Jenolan Caves offer a scenic view of the amazing cave formations below ground, proving that the beauty of the Blue Mountains isn’t just skin-deep!
The Blue Mountains region is a mecca for bushwalkers and photographers, offering picture perfect scenery all year round. The designated tourist friendly wilderness areas abound with native wildlife and ‘off the beaten track’ options for more experienced hikers offer challenging terrain that is coveted by those after a personal challenge.
The area’s Indigenous history is fascinating and can be learned about in a variety of ways, while the contemporary amenities – such as shopping opportunities – are wonderful. The Blue Mountains are simply perfect for visitors of all ages and backgrounds, so don’t neglect to visit if you’re in the Sydney area!
